How you can beat steroids and keep your hair
One of the biggest problems with steroids is the fact that they can have a negative effect on the hair, and has been said to actually contribute to hair loss, particularly in those who are already prone to Male Hair Pattern Baldness. More and more men and women are using anabolic steroids in order to achieve the ‘perfect’ body in their eyes. Knowing how to beat the steroids is a great way to prevent the need for a hair transplant in Turkey or with any professional clinic, in order to beat the cause before it becomes irreversible. While hair loss is also caused by genetics and lifestyle factors, it has been suggested that you steroids can help you lose your hair, so we’re taking a look at how you can beat that effect
How Do Steroids Affect The Hair?
When steroids are used, they can mimic the effects of the hormone testosterone, and while this isn’t particularly damaging to the hair, enzymes within it can be. The enzyme 5-alpha reductase will bind to testosterone, and this will then be converted into DHT, and this is what can damage the hair. In fact, some steroids cellular structures are so similar to testosterone, that 5-alpha reductase can very easily be converted without much of a process. If your hair is already susceptible to hair loss, then it can be increased even more with the DHT levels that steroids can cause.
How To Reduce DHT Levels
There are a number of ways that a bodybuilder, or other steroid user can help to reduce 5-alpha reductase and ultimately their DHT levels. There are a few different prescriptions that a person can take which have bn proven to reduce DHT levels, such as Finasteride. Studies have shown that this prescription can actually reduce by around 70%. Another brand, Dutasteride, can reduce levels of DHT even more (up to 90%) but this is only prescribed as a way to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia. However, there are a few prescriptions that actually work in combination with some anabolic steroids, and because of this it will not help to reduce hair loss – so it is important that you are prescribed the right medication in relation to the steroids that you are taking.
Various topical creams such as RU58841 is in production in order to reduce the effects of DHT locally rather than systemically, but while there is strong evidence that this can reduce the effects, it is not clinically approved for medical use – yet.
Knowing which are the best and worst steroids that you can take is also an important way that you can keep your hair. While steroids affect different people differently, there are a few that are deemed to be less harsh on hair. Anavar, Deca-Durabolin and Oral Turinabol are said to be three of the steroids that are least likely to cause hair loss (or ultimately contribute to high levels of DHT in the body), but this is not a guarantee. The best way to beat steroids and keep your hair is simply by not taking steroids at all, but if you do insist on using them, then the three steroids listed above are possibly the best ones that have the least negative effect on hair loss.
